As of November 19, 2007, Organon is now part of the American pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough. This combination holds significant promise and will allow us to build an even stronger and better company for the long-term.

Organon’s commitment to innovation is apparent here in the United Kingdom. Since 1996, a multi million pound investment has transformed Organon’s drug discovery research complex at Newhouse, Scotland, into one of the largest installations of its kind in the country. Together with our other main research facility in Oss, The Netherlands, we are exploring the boundaries of pharmaceutical research, in the hope that generations to come will enjoy a more secure and healthier future.

Organon’s business headquarters in the UK are based in Cambridge, from where experts in sales, marketing, administration and a variety of professional disciplines handle the company’s commercial operations throughout the country.

We employ nearly 600 people in the UK, more than half of whom work in research and over 19% of our global sales turnover is re-invested in research and development. Research and development cannot be fully effective if it happens in isolation, however. It is important that we understand the needs of our customers. To this end, in the UK we are engaged with healthcare professionals, providers and policymakers, as well as patient associations.
