We are currently involved in a range of initiatives designed to maintain and where possible enhance our interaction with colleagues in academia. These initiatives include contracting out complex activities to expert labs and sponsoring positions within academic groups, through PhD CASE studentships and offering industrial placements, to activities such as sponsoring undergraduate and post-graduate prizes and helping to support local conferences.

At present we have a number of six month or year long industrial placements within our Pharmacology and Chemistry departments and we would actively encourage contact from academic departments who would like to place their student with us in future years.

In addition we currently have a number of PhD CASE students on a rolling programme, with a number of new positions starting each academic year. Again we would welcome enquiries from Academic Supervisors interested in investigating this opportunity.

Organon sponsors a number of undergraduate and post-graduate prizes. The prizes usually take the form of small honoraria given out to students chosen by the teaching faculty of the department. This is an area in which we are actively looking to expand, both in terms of which Universities receive the awards and the number of departments to which we award prizes.

Another activity we undertake is to host visits from students who are interested in finding out more about the research process and the careers available within the pharmaceutical industry.
