Birth control is an issue which at one time or another many women all over the world share. Fortunately, there are now a number of modern, reliable and simple methods of preventing pregnancy (contraception). One of these methods is the 'IUD'. IUD stands for 'intra-uterine (contraceptive) device': an object in the womb. An IUD does not guarantee absolute protection against pregnancy, but it is very effective. It works as soon as it is fitted.

Multiload is an IUD, an intra uterine device, used for contraception. It is a small plastic (polyethylene) rod with two small flexible sidearms. A copper wire is wound around the stem. A nylon thread with two ends is attached to the bottom end of the stem.  It works for five years.
